Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate is going to be getting some more love over the first half of 2014. At the recently concluded official DOA5U tournament in Japan, Team Ninja lead Yosuke Hayashi announced that version update 1.04 will be hitting Japanese arcades in January, followed by Xbox 360 and PS3 in early February. While no patch notes have been issued just yet, Hayashi said to expect bug fixes, balance changes, and “feature enhancements,” as well as new costumes for the entire cast.
While specifics are scarce at this point, one point of info about the console patch will come as great news to fans. Marie Rose, a character currently exclusive to the Japanese arcade version of DOA5U, will be coming to Xbox 360 and PS3 as well, but we’ll have to wait until an amorphous “early Spring” release window for that. Still, this is great news not only for the fact that it will bring the console versions into parity with the arcade version, but because it shows a clear commitment to the continued health of the game by Team Ninja.
