This Week on the Wii U and 3DS eShop IGN All

2014 starts off with whimper not a bang on the eShop as only three new titles hit Nintendo's digital storefront today. The highlight is Chibi-Robo! Photo Finder, a new 3DS title in the Skip-developed series. It’s real weird, featuring famous television robots and pictures of real life items. The rest of the week is made up of Gradius on Wii U Virtual Console and a new Cocoto game on Wii U. If you’re craving games, check out the Atlus 3DS sale. Atlus games are usually fun and, if you’re into time-consuming games, super long.

Chibi-Robo! Photo Finder ($9.99)

Chibi-Robo has been quiet in North America for a while. The erstwhile tiny robot has made appearances recently in other regions, with 2009 featuring a new DS game and a Wii remake of the original GameCube one. Photo Finder, an eShop game that heavily uses the 3DS camera in quirky ways, is the first stateside Chibi-Robo release since the Walmart-exclusive Chibi-Robo! Park Patrol in 2007. Like past games, it is focused heavily on making others happy, earning Happy Points for anime action figure Space Hunter Drake Redcrest and condiments Ketschburg and Mostardin. The 3DS camera is also used to take silhouette pictures of real-life items that are in the shape of things such as toilet paper. Did I mention it’s quirky? Photo Finder even features online challenges via SpotPass for folks to compete and vote on. Still on the fence? Check out the demo, which is also out today.
