Captain America: The Winter Soldier International Differences IGN All

Cap may be as American as apple pie and baseball, but that doesn't mean his pop culture interests don't extend overseas.

There's an early scene in The Winter Soldier where we see Captain America's list of important cultural touchstones he's missed since his World War II deep freeze.

Images via Screen Crush. Images via Screen Crush.

He needs to catch up on his classic television, history, music and try some foreign cuisine. Overall, it's an amusing and straightforward to-do list. However, despite the worldwide proliferation of American culture, the filmmakers seem to have wanted to make Cap's interests relevant to people living outside the US, as well.

Shoot Everything Ever in Zombies Monsters Robots IGN All

Zombies Monsters Robots is a third-person shooter born from the "everything but the kitchen sink" school of design.

The enemy list alone reads like a bestiary for all of video gaming. Along with the three foes listed in the title, you'll blast dinosaurs, oversized bugs, and ancient Pharaohs. One level even features a hidden underground lake, complete with a sea creature. If it can be shot, you will probably have a chance to shoot it.

Though players can battle against each other in ZMR, the focus is on teaming up to take out waves of enemies together and earn high scores. This is what I did during my GDC demo. Prisoners from an ancient dungeon rose from the dead, and, as usual, the undead must die.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Review in Progress IGN All

Editor's Note: Reviewing an MMORPG is a big job that can take weeks to complete. Our final score will be awarded at that time, once we've put in enough time to get a sense of The Elder Scrolls Online's true strengths and weaknesses. In the meantime, our intrepid reviewer Leif Johnson will update you regularly on his progress, giving impressions on various aspects and events along the way.

March 30: Early Access Day One Impressions

During the earliest hours of Sunday's preorder-exclusive access, when thousands of would-be emperors huddled into the major starting cities like Morrowind's Davon's Watch, The Elder Scrolls Online performed as though it'd been out since 2012. Aside from a midday connection drop that was probably my provider's fault, I didn't even encounter significant lag during my 16-hour marathon. Even better, log-in queues, long a staple of highly anticipated massively multiplayer online roleplaying game (MMORPG) launches, were missing in action here thanks to the effectiveness of developer ZeniMax Online's so-called "megaserver." True, the main floodgates won't open until ESO officially goes live on April 4, but Tamriel was crowded enough during Early Access to demonstrate that ZeniMax might be able to handle it. If this keeps up, we could be looking at the smoothest MMO launch in years. Which is good, because there’s work to do hammering out bugs elsewhere.

SHIELD: Big Things Promised for Final Episodes of Season 1 IGN All

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD returns Tuesday night with what will be an uninterrupted run of seven episodes until the season finale, with no more breaks in the schedule. So what’s in store in the eventful episode, “End of the Beginning”, and beyond? The cast and producers gave us hints on what to expect.

If you’ve seen the previews for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, you know that film heavily involves SHIELD as an organization and suffice to say, some big things occur in that movie that will have repercussions on the Marvel Cinematic Universe, specifically where Agents of SHIELD is concerned. When I asked Jeffrey Bell how the film might affect the show, he replied, “Well, I would say episode 16 airs the Tuesday before the movie opens. Episode 17 airs right after it opens. So I would suspect that if there were anything to reverberate, it might happen in that window.”

Peter David Reunites With Spider-Man 2099 IGN All

Over 20 years ago, Marvel launched the 2099 line, offering readers a glimpse into the Marvel Universe 100 years into the future. The flagship title of the 2099 line was Spider-Man 2099, launched by writer Peter David and artist Rick Leonardi. That series chronicled the exploits of Miguel O'Hara, brilliant geneticist and heir to the mantle of Spider-Man. The series developed a pretty impressive following, at least until the shrinking market caused the entire 2099 line to fade away.

Luckily, things are looking up for Miguel again. He became a recurring player in Dan Slott's Superior Spider-Man saga last summer after becoming stranded in the present. And now Marvel has announced a new Spider-Man 2099 series. Better yet, David will be returning to write the character he created all those years before.. We recently had the chance to talk with David and find out his thoughts on returning to the 2099 franchise an what will change for Miguel as he continues to adjust to life in the past.

Once Upon a Time: "Quiet Minds" Review IGN All

Note: Full spoilers for the episode follow. Apologies that this review is up a bit late; I was visiting with different kinds of witches on the set of Salem.

It's such a relief that the Storybrooke residents have learned that Zelena is the Wicked Witch. Since the Peter Pan part of season went on and on, I was worried they would leave the witch's identity a secret for a couple more episodes. They're moving it along at the right pace to keep it from getting boring, and I like that the reveal was on Zelena's terms. She seems more calculating and more powerful than Regina – so much so that it's not clear who would win in a fight.

Hook and Neal got the winning scene of the episode. So much has happened that it's easy to forget Hook watched over Neal for a bit when he was a kid. Hook's call back to that time was confusing at first and then incredibly touching. It was a moment between those two I didn't know I needed, and I appreciated the reminder of their relationship. Especially considering the ending.

Scooby-Doo! WrestleMania Mystery Review IGN All

To answer your first (and possibly only) question: Yes, we are reviewing the Scooby-Doo/WWE mashup movie. Because it's a thing that exists. A bizarre thing, no less, featuring two giant entertainment properties merging for the first time.

Or "because reasons," if that suits your needs.

And yes, I am aware that, even as a WWE fan, this movie isn't made for me. It's a kids movie. One that hopes to convert Scooby-Doo fans to the WWE, or convert WWE fans to Scooby-Doo, or reward those children who are already fans of both. It also harkens back to The New Scooby-Doo Movies of the early 70s which featured guests stars such as the Three Stooges, Batman and Robin, Sonny and Cher, and Jerry Reed (though the franchise never truly quit having guest stars as part of its DNA).

Starting April 16, Deadlight will take the place of Hitman: Absolution, dropping from $15 USD and staying free through April 30. Deadlight launched in 2012 for Xbox Live Arcade and was one of the finest titles of the year on the platform.
