Once wrapped up Season 3 with a two hour finale. Airing episodes back to back gave us more time, sure, but it also made for some weird pacing. Hook and Emma did get sucked into the time portal early on in the first hour, but the story slowed down from there. It wasn't entirely bad – seeing Hook and Emma interact outside of Storybrooke and in problem solving mode was delightful – but it meant the end was rushed.
The only piece that didn't get wrapped up was discussing the portal and Zelena. Regina and company theorized before Emma and Hook got transported, but some reference to the Wicked Witch should have been made after they returned. Just a line or two about what they were going to do with the place where Zelena cast the spell or a question about whether the portal was truly closed would have sufficed.
