Given that Wolverine #4 already offered a quieter, character-focused installment of the series, it’s a bit disappointing to see issue #5 attempt the same thing. The core difference being that Paul Cornell has finally brought the flashback material full circle and explored why Wolverine threw his lot in with The Offer’s group, so this issue is focused entirely on the present. Unfortunately, that doesn’t do much to make this feel like a particularly relevant or necessary stop along the journey to Logan’s rematch with Sabretooth.
