Man, how funny is it that this show - and especially this episode, "Demimonde" - expertly set us up for a Dorian/Vanessa coupling, only to switch gears in the third act and have Dorian and Ethan hook up? I don't have any objections to the surprise other than those that make me wonder if it thematically fits. Which his to say: the episode isn't telling us that Ethan is gay as much as it's showing us how distraught he's become and how much he desires to escape his own reality. Or as he puts it, "be someone else." If not just for one night.
