Quentin Tarantino will begin shooting his eighth feature film, The Hateful Eight, in Colorado this December.
The Denver Post reported that the state Economic Development Commission approved the $5 million incentive package Friday morning, securing the on-again-off-again film's locale over Utah and Wyoming. With a budget of $44 million, this will be Colorado's biggest production since True Grit in 1969.
"Even though there have been some big movies shot here over the years, this is the biggest thing since 'True Grit,' because it's all Colorado," film commissioner Donald Zuckerman said. "Because it's a Western. And because it's Tarantino."
