In the past couple years, companies built mobile apps at a faster pace than they created websites in the 90s and early 2000s, when the Internet was expanding exponentially. And in the past year, mobile devices have grown even more, surpassing TV as the most-viewed device.
TVs count for only 24 percent of all devices with access to video content, according to a study published by telecommunications analyst Benedict Evans. And in the last nine months, time spent on mobile devices has grown 9.3 percent, jumping from 2 hrs. and 42 mins. daily, to 2 hrs. and 57 mins. TV, on the other hand, remained steady at 2 hr.s and 48 mins., according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
