Interstellar director and scribe Christopher Nolan has written a prequel comic for the film, titled Absolute Zero, that further explores the story of Dr. Mann and the Lazarus missions.
During the film, it's revealed that Dr. Mann -- played by Matt Damon -- had survived his expedition to locate a new home for mankind. The comic takes place on the icy planet that Mann discovers, well before Cooper and the other astronauts arrive.
The seven-page comic tells the story of how Mann, and his robot companion KIPP, collected the data that would be used to fool those back on Earth into coming to his rescue. A panel from the comic can be found below, while it can be read in its entirety over on Wired.
