Star Citizen Reveals First-Person Module IGN All

Star Citizens first-person module was shown off in detail during its fan event at PAX Australia overnight, detailing the module’s shooting, perspective, animation and environmental features.


According to Roberts Space industries founder, Chris Roberts, whatever the in-game character is doing in third-person, the animation is exactly what they are doing in first-person. The rigs are all of the same and feature the same animation.


The demo also highlighted combat in zero-gravity environments, as well as how weapons “shoots were the gun is pointing and not where the sights are shooting.”


Illfonic, developer of Nexuiz for the Xbox 360 and PC, is the studio working on the first-person module. There is a lot more polish to be added to the first-person shooting component of the space exploration title before it launches late next year. For example, the animations shown are not 100 percent complete as a final motion capture performance is slated to begin early next year. Realistic physics destructible and environments will also be added before its release.
