Note: Full spoilers for the episode follow.
Star Wars was heavily influenced by old movie serials and this episode’s beginning entertainingly evoked that feeling, leaping us into the action as we picked up on the heels of last week’s episode – with a ton of TIE Fighters in hot pursuit of the Ghost. It was a fun sequence, with some nice beats, including that big banking motion the Ghost pulled off, before Tseebo helped them with an Artoo-type last minute hyperspace jump.
What stood out even more this week though, in terms of spaceship-related action, was when Ezra and Kanan detached away from the Ghost while in the middle of hyperspace. This was an action we hadn’t seen in Star Wars before and it was given a really cool visual as the ship and those onboard went hurtling away in a colorful and trippy spectacle.
