Disney has acquired a spec script about Robin Hood by first-time writer Brandon Barker called Nottingham & Hood, which means there are now competing Robin Hood projects going in Hollywood.
Sony recently bought a Robin Hood pitch, called Hood, from scripters Cory Goodman and Jeremy Lott with an eye to creating a series of films set in the famed character’s world. A shared universe of movies, don’t you know, as is all the rage these days.
Barker’s Nottingham & Hood is described by Deadline as a revisionist take on the legend with a “Pirates of the Caribbean tone” and, of course, franchise dreams for the studio.
