Gracepoint Season Review IGN All

Note: Full spoilers follow for Gracepoint's entire season.


The first and only season of this Broadchurch remake was doomed with certain pockets of viewers from the beginning simply because many episodes were carbon copies of the original. And try as we might to not compare the two projects, it was inevitable — David Tennant did, after all, play versions of the same character in both. Still there were plenty of bright moments that made Gracepoint a captivating watch, especially for those who weren’t actually familiar with Broadchuch.


Tennant is a formidable actor, and his skills were certainly showcased here. Once you got past his American accent (and aged look), it was easy to settle into the gruff Carver character and become interested in his social and medical difficulties. One of the highlights of the season was when he went to the Miller house for dinner; his fish out of water composure hinted at the character having Asperger’s and began to turn audience’s eyes towards Joe (Josh Hamilton) and Tom (Jack Irvine) as potential suspects.
