Following a clip reel – which included guests like Paul Rudd and Chris Meloni -- the panel for The Triumph and Jack Show at the fairly stuff TCA (Television Critics Association) press tour today began as most of us in the room hoped – with Triumph the Insult Comic verbally tearing us apart.
But after a few minutes of hearing that we’re not the thinnest group in the world (true) and such, “Triumph” exited, as Robert Smigel himself stood up from behind the chair he was hiding behind to discuss the new Adult Swim series "Triumph" is starring in with 30 Rock's Jack McBrayer.
Looking back on Triumph’s ongoing popularity, Smigel said that one thing he felt helped is that when he introduced the character on Conan O’Brien, they, “Made a conscious decision not to do it too many times a year”, allowing his occasional appearances to still feel fresh.
