"Diversity" has pretty much become the buzzword in the comics industry lately. Fans want more of it, whether that involves a more diverse lineup of characters in the Marvel and DC universes or a wider assortment of creators from different religious and ethnic backgrounds. No one can argue that the industry hasn't made great strides in both areas, especially in recent years. That doesn't mean there aren't still regular controversies cropping up involving things like poor storytelling choices and bad behavior from creators. But even though fan outcry over such problems is a vital and necessary thing, there seems to be a growing double standard in the comics industry when it comes to diversity.
