Yet another writer will try his hand at the script for The Conjuring 2, the direct sequel to last year’s haunted house hit The Conjuring. Screenwriter David Leslie Johnson (Wrath of the Titans, Orphan) has been tapped to rework the existing screenplay for the film, which will still be directed by The Conjuring director James Wan.
The Wrap reports that “Johnson will rewrite an earlier draft Wan penned with Chad and Carey Hayes, with revisions by Eric Heisserer.”
Johnson got his start as an assistant to Frank Darabont on films such as The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile. Since then he’s written his own feature films as well as episodes of The Walking Dead and Mob City. He also wrote the script for an upcoming remake of Something Wicked This Way Comes for Disney.
