We're just a couple of weeks away from the debut of 12 Monkeys on Syfy and now you can get an early look at how the show kicks off. Yahoo has debuted the opening nine-minus sequence to the TV series, which is based on the 1995 Terry Gilliam film that starred Bruce Willis, Madeleine Stowe and Brad Pitt.
In the new version, Aaron Stanford (X2, Nikita) stars as Cole, a man from 2043 - an era when most of humanity has been wiped out thanks to a horrific viral outbreak. In the opening sequence, seen below, Cole travels back to our recent past to contact Cassandra Railly (Suits' Amanda Schull), believing she may be able to help him alter the course of time and stop the virus from ever occurring.
