iZombie: "Liv and Let Clive" Review IGN All

Note: Full spoilers for the episode follow.


After ingesting the brains of a kleptomaniac, a passionate artist, and a sociopath, Liv had a less dramatic meal in tonight's episode. Sammy Wong's fearful and anxious traits transferred over and though they put Liv on edge, they didn't take control as overtly as the other brains have. We only saw Liv eat few bites so maybe the smaller portion contributed to a more subtle personality shift (excellently played by Rose McIver, as usual). Of course, she did gain major kung fu skills.


The traits mentioned above did heighten Liv's suspicions about Clive. His recent past as a cop who went deep undercover goes a little way towards explaining how eager he is to solve cases and make a difference. If he was essentially pretending to be another person for a year, he didn't help people in a direct way on a regular basis – not like he is now. And the lost year seems to have given him insecurities. You can see them weighing on Clive when he tells Liv about people not wanting to work with him anymore. It seems like something questionable happened while he was undercover. I don't think we've heard the last about it. But if we don't, getting the basics adds nuance to the character.
