Grant Morrison is nothing if not a planner. He plants seeds for stories years in advance and weaves an intricate narrative that at times feels like you need a Ph.D in DC continuity to fully understand. Fortunately, Batman Incorporated is a book that can still be enjoyed, even if you have a mere Master's or, heaven forbid, Bachelor's degree in the DC universe.
This issue jumps back to the future where Damian is Batman and Gotham is at the end of its rope. There's tons of action and lots of disturbing visuals (seriously disturbing). Chris Burnham is the real star here, drawing every gritty, dark detail. Future Batman looks like a true badass. The destruction of Gotham never looked so good. If nothing else, you can pick up this issue and lose yourself in the gorgeous visuals. It's just so damn lovely.
