Wow. That was freaking funny.
The third episode of Community: Season 4 was a big misfire for the show – a trip to an Inspector Spacetime convention that is my least favorite episode of the series. The third episode of Season 5? One of the show’s funniest episodes ever.
With a huge influence from Seven (though other dark and moody serial killer/crime dramas were also included), “Basic Intergluteal Numismatics” took the idea of a campus killer and replaced it, naturally, with a campus “Ass Crack Bandit.” This juvenile joke – which could have been a disaster in other hands – was an inspiration here, with so many great moments along the way. Troy’s horrific scream when he was attacked, followed by him dramatically slapping the supposedly guilty Star-Burns (welcome back!) later on were both awesome and yes, a reminder that Donald Glover will be missed.
