Hands On with Mad Catz' Xbox One Racing Wheel IGN All

Mad Catz is just about ready to jump into Forza Motorsport 5 with its new Force Feedback Racing Wheel, which the company has on-hand at CES. Mad Catz worked with Microsoft and Forza developer Turn 10 to create the steering wheel, and we got a chance to take the Xbox One accessory for a test drive.


Right when I placed my hands on the wheel, its comfort and durability were immediately noticeable. The peripheral features a metal frame and suede-like grips—a leather-like material would have been a nice touch—and the aluminum paddle shifters had just enough resistance to feel less like a gaming accessory and more like an vehicle. Using a pair of force feedback motors, the curves of the road and the virtual g-forces translated well to my hands, adding another physical element to the driving experience.
