Had everything gone according to plan, the final issue of Death of Wolverine would have already been released by now. Instead, delays have basically transformed this weekly series into a biweekly one. C'est la vie. With the series hinging so heavily on Steve McNiven's artwork, this is definitely a case where Marvel needs to give the creative team all the time they need to produce a quality product, scheduling and epilogue books be damned. And the good news is that issue #3 was worth the slightly longer wait.
Death of Wolverine has had a global focus as Charles Soule has revisited Logan's many famous stomping grounds. Issue #1 was a callback to Logan's early life in Canada. Issue #2 paid homage to his rough-and-tumble adventures in Madripoor and his alter ego, Patch. With issue #3, the setting now shifts to Japan. This is Soule's chance to explore Wolverine's life as a wandering samurai. And with Kitty Pryde in the mix now, Soule is also able to call back to the classic Wolverine & Kitty Pryde mini-series.
