Deadpool #41 Review IGN All

STK660554 The previous issue of Deadpool offered Wade Wilson and his readers a brief respite from the darkness and despair of his life. Now the series resumes focusing on more serious matters. But that tends to be when it works best, and such appears to be the case with this arc.


Deadpool finds himself in something of a funk in the wake of AXIS. He's adrift, and he can't help but wonder if he was happier as his inverted, Zen master self. This crisis of self leads him to take on an assignment with Roxxon (far different from the comedic escapades of issue #40). The writers do a good job of balancing the unhappiness of Wade's situation with healthy spurts of humor. Unlike Deadpool himself, this issue finds and achieves a balance. Plus, the Trapster is present, and he's always good for a laugh.
