As you might have heard, Marvel is building towards a new Secret Wars event this summer. More than any previous chapter of "Time Runs Out" this issue of New Avengers builds directly towards that event. Jonathan Hickman further establishes the stakes as the end of the Marvel Universe looms. Along the way, this series gains an extra dose of emotional resonance as we see just how much the Illuminati have sacrificed in their attempts to stave off annihilation.
