Iron Man has played a surprisingly small part in the events of "Time Runs Out" thus far. Avengers #43 finally rectifies that omission as Tony is set loose from his cube prison. Jonathan Hickman expertly capitalizes on the relationships Tony has with Mister Fantastic and Steve Rogers, particularly when it comes to exploring Tony's shattered friendship with the latter. There's a real sense of loss as Steve reflects on the way things were and what's come to pass since everything went bad.
